About Me

My photo
Jillian Marie
As a part of a well known Rehabilitation Hospital’s Sports Program, I am the Adaptive Sports Programmer, 2010-2011 AmeriCorps member!! My duties are: to assess for, plan, implement and evaluate various adapted sports and recreational programs--to promote programs; to recruit volunteers and participants; to ensure smooth execution of event logistics; to manage and coach sports teams; to participate in all facets of agency operation. GOAL: TO ELIMINATE HEALTH DISPARTITIES OF PwD!! To give you a snapshot of my background -- I received my MS in Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse in August 2008 and was soon published in the ATRA Annual in Therapeutic Recreation, volume 18, with my manuscript on a new Intervention, The Sociable Tandem Cycle (STC) Recreation Program. I am a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and I have worked with City Recreation, as an Adaptive swim instructor, Therapeutic aquatics aerobics instructor, Coach of the power soccer team and have provided services as support staff to the Wheelchair basketball team, as well as to the local BlazeSports quad rugby team.
